The Condor Legion in Spain

The intervention will focus on the historical facts that helped to turn the bombings carried out by Germans in the Spanish Civil War into a symbol of international fascism and on the formation of the Condor Legion, its activities in the war and the memory of it in Spain and Germany, highlighting the intervention of the Condor Legion in the Spanish Civil War as a crucial event in Franco’s victory.

Professor of Contemporary History and Director of the Centre for Research on Antisemitism at the Technical University of Berlin. Her fields of interest are German Jewish history in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the history of the Spanish Civil War.
